Account Switcher for Claude

Privacy policy

Last updated 2 October 2026 · applies to version 0.2.0 and later

Account Switcher for Claude is a Chrome extension that keeps several claude.ai accounts signed in and switches between them. It is an independent open-source project, unofficial and not affiliated with Anthropic. This page says exactly what it stores, what it sends and to whom.

What it stores

The extension keeps its data in chrome.storage.local, its private storage inside your Chrome profile:

While you add an account, the login you were using is kept in chrome.storage.session (in memory, cleared when Chrome closes) so Cancel can restore it.

Like all extension storage, it is not encrypted at rest: Chrome keeps it as files in your profile folder. Websites and other extensions can't read it, but anyone or any program with access to your computer account could, just as they could read your browser's own cookies. It is never synced to your Google account or to other devices.

What it sends, and to whom

The extension only sends requests to https://claude.ai, from your browser:

These are the same kind of requests claude.ai's own pages make, sent with the claude.ai cookies in your browser. To switch, the extension puts the saved claude.ai cookies of the chosen account in your browser and reloads your claude.ai tabs.

On claude.ai pages it looks only at the status of claude.ai's own requests (not their content) to notice a link that isn't in the current account, and it listens for its keyboard shortcuts (Alt+1–9). It does not read your chats, files or anything you type.

There are no servers of ours and no analytics, tracking, ads or crash reports. Your data is never sold, shared or transferred to anyone, and it is used only for the features described here, never for anything unrelated such as advertising or credit decisions. The extension runs no remote code: everything it runs ships in the package you install.
